Cameras and Venues

Last weekend someone stole my little camera out of my son's truck. It wasn't an expensive camera but it was mine. So, what's an artist to do? I've decided to research some other small cameras and wait at least a week to scope out new cameras. I'm not giving up, just backing up and punting as they say.

I entered some of my photos into a free art show that featured some of the area high school students and others will also invited to show. It's a new art group in the area where I live: Carter Arts, located in Elizabethton, Tn which is in Carter County. It was free admission, free entry of our artwork and there was free music for two nights.

I've also started selling my work at a local Farmer's Market: Johnson City Farmer's Market, in Johnson City, Tn. It's fun, especially since one of my friends has urged me to sell there. She's put me on her application, we share her spot and help each other.

Having my work in two different locations is definitely a first for me. I started selling at the Farmers Market just a week ago! Well, time to go. Have a beautiful day or night, depending on where you are in the world.

Well, today is the first day of 2014. The beginning of a new year. Expectations are everywhere. What do I expect in the forthcoming 12 months? THAT, is a HUGE question for many.

I can't really say I have expectations, but I am working on several goals. One would be to make more time for my photography pursuits. Another is to be more financially stable so I can attain the first goal. So, to make the first goal possible, I am going to take Bella, my dog on a walk in our little neighborhood. It's a neighborhood in a small town in Northeast Tenn. filled with quaint little houses, manicured yards, sidewalks and wonderful neighbors that look out for each other.

I hope to post a note possibly once a week or so. This is definitely a whole new thing to me, as is having my own website. It's exciting and a big change for me. I sure do hope you'll join me on my adventure throughout the coming months. :)
